British Royal Navy Imperial Rum - The British had a long history of serving rum aboard ship. The “tot” was first served to English sailors in Jamaica in 1655. The daily ration of BRNIR was suspended on July 31, 1970, now known as “Black Tot Day”. Until recently, the remaining demijohns were stored in an underground warehouse in Bath.
