Boru Vodka To Sponsor 17Th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards

Independent Spirit Committed to Independent Bands

October 22, 2007, New York, NY - Castle Brands Inc. (AMEX: ROX), an emerging international spirits company, today announced that its flagship brand, Boru Vodka, will be the main event sponsor of the 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards (LAMA).

The Los Angeles Music Awards is the largest and longest running Hollywood red- carpet event for independent artists in the world. LAMA alumni include the Black Eyed Peas, Sugar Ray, Alien Ant Farm and No Doubt. This year’s event takes place on November 29 at the historic Music Box Theater and will be presented by Boru Vodka. Over 1,500 people will attend the awards show which will be broadcast live on synchronicitylive.com. Additional recorded distribution of the event is currently being negotiated.

This is the second time this year that Boru has reached out to the independent music industry. Earlier this year, Boru launched its “Defend the Bar Band” contest and sweepstakes. The “Defend the Bar Band” program invited unsigned bands to take part in an on-line battle-of-the-bands competition. Fifteen bands were selected as semifinalists to have their music showcased on www.boru.com. Fans were then invited to listen in and vote for their favorite band on line. The competition is now in its final week of semifinalist voting. On October 29, the top four bands will be named as finalists. Following one week of consumer voting for the final four bands, the consumer votes and a panel of industry judges will determine which finalist becomes the winner. The winning band will receive a digital release from Roadrunner Records and $10,000 worth of equipment from Musician’s Friend. Fans have a chance to win $5,000 in the consumer portion of the sweepstakes. Visit www.boru.com for details.

Speaking for Castle Brands, Roseann Sessa, Vice President Marketing & Public Relations said: “The connection to LAMA is a natural extension of Boru’s marketing efforts. We are committed to supporting the new, fresh, indomitable spirit of independent bands. We are extremely pleased with the results to date of our “Defend the Bar Band” competition. It’s been a win/win for everyone. We have introduced music fans to great new bands while at the same time providing additional exposure for our semifinalists. In return, our semifinalist bands have become unofficial Boru brand ambassadors. We are excited to extend our commitment to independent musicians by supporting LAMA.”

The LAMA Main Event sponsorship package includes pouring rights, event tickets, red carpet photo opportunity, name and logo on “Artist of the Year Award” plaque and branding on all distribution of the 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards.

More About the Los Angeles Music Awards

The Los Angeles Music Awards was founded in 1991 as a vehicle to honor local independent bands. At that time in the music industry, unsigned meant unsuccessful yet there were hundreds of independent artists that were writing and performing great music and no way for them to receive any recognition. Fast forward 17 years to today’s i-pod generation where independent music is thriving on the internet and in local clubs all over the world. The Los Angeles Music Awards is there today to give a nod from Hollywood to all of the great new music from the USA and around the world and will continue to expand its reach in the coming years.
